WannaHang only collects what it needs to work. We don't sell your data or show ads.

What we collect

  • Your phone number, to sign you in with a texted code.
  • The name you enter.
  • The hangs you make or join, and the times you pick.
  • A cookie that keeps you signed in, until 90 days after you last use WannaHang.
  • When a code is sent: the number, your IP address and the time, so we can stop abuse.
  • Feedback you send, with the page you sent it from and your browser type (to track down bugs), your IP address (to stop spam), and your account if you're signed in.

Who sees what

  • Anyone with a hang's link can see that hang: its name and the names and times of everyone on it. Only share links with people you'd invite.
  • Nobody else sees your phone number, including your friends.

Companies that help us run it

  • A texting provider sends sign-in codes, so it receives your phone number.
  • Our hosting and database providers run the app and store its data, and keep standard server logs, which include IP addresses.
  • An error-tracking service gets a report when something breaks: what went wrong, the page, and your browser and device type. Phone numbers are removed before reports are sent.
  • They only use your data to run these services for us. We never share your phone number for marketing.

Texts

  • Right now we only text you sign-in codes, when you ask for one. Message and data rates may apply.

Deleting your data

  • A host can delete a hang, which removes everyone's times for it.
